Adding a User

The User section of the back office is where you can add new till users, normally each employee will have their own user code and passcode, or user code and passcard/key to log into the till interface with. 

 



To add users to your MYPOS System follow the steps below.


To begin with you will need to go to the MYPOS Portal at https://portal.myposconnect.com and sign in with your email address and password

Once you have logged in you will see several menu options on the left hand side of the Portal, select the "Data Setup" option and choose "Users" from the dropdown options that appear below

Select the  "Add New" button from the purple buttons along the top of the "Users" Page

Fill in the username as applicable, if you leave the passcode field blank then no passcode will be required for the user to log into the system


A summary of the fields and functions is below:

 UserCode This should be numeric, we reccomend a 4 digit usercode, a usercode is unique to a single user and can't be changed once set    
 First Name The users First Name
 Last Name The users Last Name
 Display Name  The Name the user would like dispalyed on the MYPOS UI
 Payroll Number An Optional Field to keep track of the Employee against n external Payroll System  
 Startup Menu By default the user will see the devices standard homepage when logging in, a custom startup page can be set for the user here 
 Date of Birth An optional field to record the users Date of Birth
 Active If ticked the usercode is 'active' and can be used to log into the till, if unticked the usercode is inactive and can't be used
 Passcode This is optional but if set should be numeric, we reccomend 4 digit passcode, a passcode can be used in conjunction with a usercode for added security          
 PassCard/Key If Passcards or Passkeys are used instead of a Usercode or Passcode, these are configured here   
   
 Less Button Controls the ability to use the "less" button to reduce a qty in the till      
 More Button Controls the ability to use the "more" button to increase a qty in the till     
 Error/Cancel Order   Button  Control the ability to use the "cancel order" button to clear the list of items in the till roll
 Quantity Controls the ability to add multiple qty of an item in the till 
 Reopen Sale Legacy MYPOS7 function, no longer used in MYPOS8 or MYPOS10
 Petty Cash Controls the ability for the user to record petty cash transactions in the till
 Declare Float Controls the ability for the user to declare floats in the till
 No Sale Controls the ability for the user to press "no sale" to open the Cashdrawer  
 Discounts Controls the ability for the user to apply Discounts 
 Refund Item Controls the ability for the user to process Refunds
 Cash Lift Controls the ability for the user to record a "cash lift" when money is moved out of the Cashdrawer to a safe or other secure location    
 Price Special/Override Controls the ability for the user to perform a price override on an item
 Jounal Controls the ability for the user to perform a print a till journal from the till
 X Read Controls the ability for the user to perform a X read on the till
 Z Read Controls the ability for the user to perform a Z read and reset the sessioncode on the till
 Close Till Controls the ability for the user to close the till interface

Fill out the User information as applicable and press the "Add" button

After the "Add" button is pressed the user will be saved and the portal window will reload with a list of all current users including the new one you just added, the MYPOS till system will need restarting to pick up new users or change to the exist users.
