Adding a Discount:

To begin with you will need to go to the MYPOS Portal at https://portal.myposconnect.com and sign in with your email address and password

Once you have logged in you will see several menu options on the left hand side of the Portal, select the "Data Setup" option and choose "Discounts" from the dropdown options that appear below

Select the  "Add New" button from the blue buttons along the top of the "Discounts" Page and fill the data out as required, an explanation of each field is below

Depending on what discount you are setting up depends on what fields are necessary. fields in Purple below are necessary for all types of discount:

Discount Code - a short title of discount i.e. Family10, this is what will be displayed as the discount name on your MYPOS device

Description - a slightly longer description for reporting purposes, this will default to the same as the DiscountCode by default

Discount Type - see the list of options above

Discount Value - the amount (monetary or percentage) that the discount should deduct

Min. Value - this can be used to set the minimum basket level before the discount will be activated, for example for a £5 discount when you spend £30 you could enter £30 in this field

Max. value - this can be used to set the maximum basket value before the discount will not activate, for example if the discount is 10% of a maximum spent of £50 you could enter £50 in this field

Start Date & End Date - The default start date will always be the date the discount is created, this can be changed by picking a date from the pop up calendar or typing a date into the start date box, If the discount has no foreseeable end date you can leave the end date as the default which is 01/01/2050, however if the discount ends on a specific date the you can set the end date by picking a date from the pop up calendar or typing a date into the end date box

Start Time & End Time - these are the DAILY start and end times - so if you only wanted the promotion to run from 8am-1pm on each of its valid days, this is where you would amend these times, if you wanted the discount to run all day through out the promotional dates then it can stay as the default 00:00 -23.59

Max Uses Per Sale - This can be used to restrict the number of times the discount can be applied per transaction, for example if the discount is 10% off one item

Days Valid - a discount can be valid for just one day of a week or up to all seven - tick the box for each day of the week you want the discount to be active

Notes - This is used for certain types of discount where products or classifications are being specified, for example the "Percentage Department List" & the "Percentage Department" discounts, - here the departments you wish to discount would be listed with each separate by a comma

Once the discount fields have been completed press the add button at the bottom of the page, After the "Add" button is pressed the discount will be saved and the portal window will reload will a list of all current discounts including the new one you just added

Each MYPOS device will need MYPOS Re-Syncing (Manager > Re-Sync Data) in order for the discount to be usable in MYPOS.
